| About Producer | Champagne Pol Roger celebrates its 175th anniversary in 2024, with the house’s first sale of Champagne having been made by a 17-year-old boy named Pol Roger on 2 January 1849. The small but perfectly formed Epernay-based producer remains reassuringly exclusive with tiny production compared with other major Champagne brands. Now run by the sixth generation of the family, it has endured the collapse of its cellars, with the loss of one million bottles, two world wars and fickle export markets. It is a bijou Champagne producer and, according to its most famous customer, Winston Churchill, it is “The world’s most drinkable address”. The Pol Roger style is all about finesse, elegance and purity. |
