Domaine Aurélien Verdet Hautes Côtes de Nuits le Prieuré Blanc 2023

An unconventional approach to Burgundy, Aurelien Verdet is a young, organic pioneer in the less celebrated Hautes Cote de Nuits but with global warming, its higher altitude is proving to be highly coveted by producers in the more famous Cote de Nuits villages. All his whites are lovingly tended, hand harvested and allowed to ferment natural in concrete eggs rather than Burgundy oak barrels. As a result, this is a very pure, clear expression of Chardonnay. It is just gorgeously textured with a bright vivacity on the delicately floral finish.
