| About Producer | Greenhough is owned and run by Andrew Greenhough and Jenny Wheeler with canine support from Quinn, their Australian terrier. They left the bright lights of Auckland behind in 1990 and bought a vineyard in the optimistically entitled village of Hope.The majority of Greenhough’s plantings are dedicated to Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay but there is also a small parcel of Riesling, including three rows on their own roots dating back to 1976, and Pinot Blanc, a rare but richly textured variety. In 2008, Greenhough started the process of converting to organic viticulture and its vineyards are now fully certified. Many of its wines are also vegan friendly. Greenhough has been called “one of Nelson’s best wine producers” in 100 Must-Try New Zealand Wines as well as “one of New Zealand’s most exciting producers” by UK-based writer Simon Woods. |
