| About Producer | Francois Villard started his working life as a chef, before switching from making delectable food to fine wine in 1991. He released his first wine – a Condrieu – in 1992. Over the past three decades, his domaine has grown steadily and he has become increasingly conscious of his footprint on earth, converting to organics and achieving certification in August 2022. He makes superlative wines from the prized appellations of Cote-Rotie, Cornas and Saint-Joseph,, including the cheekily titled Sol et Poivre, which is included in our range. His reds, made entirely from Syrah, are fermented as whole clusters with minimal extraction, creating perfumed styles with gentle tannins. |
