| About Producer | The Bessette family have been making wine for four generations with the young and talented owner-winemaker Alain Bessette at the head of the Château. He has been elected second Best Bordeaux Producer for the last two years in a row and his wines are awarded medals every year. Andre Bessette (Alain's father) restructured the entire vineyard in the 1960s, from the grapes to root stocks to the drainage of the soil in an effort to maximize the quality of grapes and wine produced. In the 1980s the vineyard covered a mere 20 hectares but has expanded over the past three decades, now it covering 60 hectares. Alain joined his father in 1999 in order to sustain the quality of work and maintain the tradition of family winemaking and in doing so brought his extensive experience and expertise to these fabulous wines. |
